MLS announced its ideal 11 for the 2023 season, without Lionel Messi in sight among the best players in the U.S. league. The lineup is as follows:

Inter Miami announced the signing of Messi on July 15 on a 2.5 season contract in MLS. However, due to his mid-season arrival and injuries, the Argentine was only limited to six official league games, scoring one goal.
