Lionel Messi’s stint with Inter Miami in the MLS season has concluded, but the club has organized a tribute night for their iconic player.
Messi is set to face New York City FC next Friday, although coach Tata Martino has suggested that his compatriot might not play the entire match.
“Messi is in good physical condition and, of course, he will play on Friday against New York City FC, but it’s possible that he may not play the entire match,” Martino noted.
The “Noche d’Or” tribute game is designed to honor Messi as the first MLS Ballon d’Or winner, showcasing a match between Inter Miami and New York City FC.

Inter Miami’s pre-season plans
Despite the official cancellation of the China tour, Martino mentioned contemplating friendly matches abroad and the possibility of a 40-day pre-season.
“It’s something that we have been discussing in these days with the sports and commercial areas, and we will try to consider all the club’s needs, obviously prioritizing the sporting aspect,” Martino added.
“We are considering being here in Florida and contemplating some friendly matches abroad.
“Obviously, this is not confirmed yet, but we are exploring this scenario to have a pre-season of around 40 days.”
