The first postseason of the Leo Messi era Miami will be historic because, for the first time since its founding, Inter Miami will go on an international tour in which it will play two friendly matches in Asia.
The first will be on November 5 in Qingdao against the local Qingdao Hainiu team, which plays in the Chinese Super League, the top tier of Chinese soccer.
Three days later, on November 8, the North American club will travel to the city of Chengdu for the second match of the tour against Chengdu Rongcheng, another Chinese Super League team.
The Phoenix Hill Football Stadium, with a capacity of 60,000, will host the match.
Promoters who have worked with Barcelona
This international tour is organized by two companies with experience in this field, NSN (Never Say Never) and China’s Maijia Sports.
NSN, an international company based in Barcelona, was the company in charge of organizing the match between Barcelona and Vissel Kobe that took place last June 7 in Tokyo, with the attendance of 50,000 spectators at the National Stadium of Japan.
“We are excited to continue to expand our Club’s global reach, bringing our team to play in front of incredible fans around the world,” Xavi Asensi, Inter Miami’s Director of Business Development, said.
“This is a special opportunity to share the passion as we reach new audiences and showcase ourselves in new places, and we can’t wait to begin this adventure.”
“With this project we are redoubling our commitment and continuing to grow in the field of sports and entertainment,” Joel Borras, founder of NSN, said.
“Together with our local partner, Maijia Sports, we have the opportunity to organize a historic tour featuring the team of the year.”
Ticket details confirmed soon
Inter Miami‘s trip to China will be the first opportunity to see the team led by Leo Messi and other top players such as Sergio Busquets, Jordi Alba and Josef Martinez in action outside of the United States.
An announcement on how and when tickets for these matches will be available for purchase will be made soon.
